About

The Birdies Be True calendar is an independent project shot and produced in Naarm, Vic. It is aimed at raising awareness and appreciation of the natural beauty and wildlife around us. In 2026, the effects of climate change, habitat loss, and bird flu make action as urgent as ever.

In its own way, the Birdies Be True calendar seeks to brighten your day. We hope it also reminds and educates anyone who comes across it about the preciousness of the natural world that we so deeply need and rely on.

This calendar project is created and produced by local Naarm-based artists Alex Childs and Rose Gonzalez. The photos for 2027 were shot in Kurrum Yallock (Plenty Gorge) with many thanks to fellow bird-lover, botanist and environmentalist Danny White.
